Victrola Cri

iVictrola by made-craft

My first acquaintance was with Matt Richmond's iVictrola. It is still at the top of my list, largely due to the brassy distortion. All of the sort use simple principles of amplification in order to achieve their resonance, hence wireless.

Minus earbuds, of course.

RGB Wallpaper

via Yatzer.

Though it looks like a botched registration job, the disorienting imagery becomes distinguishable as three individual layers when you shed some light on the subject. Not a particularly new trick and mostly composed of clip art, but the scale is impressive. Would really like a closer look at the papers with repeat patterns.

Time to revisit my Dover Publications collection it seems.

Counterfeit

Artists next on the list for personal appropriation include Frédérique Morrel & Lisa Lefebvre.

I immediately think of Méret Oppenheim, albeit completely reversed and without the looming gray cloud of feminist sexual commentary. Not missed.

Cable Drawings

After running across this piece by Maisie Maud Broadhead (great name p.s.), I had to have one of my own. So here's my attempt at a mirror top silhouette to my existing dresser.

Cheap, but incredibly tedious project.

Traditional

Via Yatzer.
Beautiful specimens of what could well be the new Traditional. The classic modern silhouettes uphold the sophistication of the style, while the cool materials cut through the stuffiness like a hot knife. The combination feels smart and timeless. {to me}

Marlies Romberg

As an accompaniment to her graduate exhibition, Dear Diary 1.0, Marlies created a flash drive worth salivation. The Topsecret USB is encased in glazed white porcelain and sealed with wax to protect your most classified files. Unfortunately this is just a design prototype thus far.

Kitsune Noir

"Ceci n'est pas une mixtape" is Paris inspired collection of star-crossed melodies from Bobby Solomon, author of Kitsune Nior and curator of digital mixtapes du jour.

In a nod to the old days skipping ahead is out of the question. He records the collections as one solid track, to be enjoyed beginning to end. Free to boot!

Apica

Sleek notebooks from Apica with a lot of charm. Old fashioned styling makes it the place to practice your Spencerian script. Japanese product push lost in translation makes it the perfect place.

Really fond of the gray college ruled pages.

ABSURDLY cheap here & here.
