Marlies Romberg

As an accompaniment to her graduate exhibition, Dear Diary 1.0, Marlies created a flash drive worth salivation. The Topsecret USB is encased in glazed white porcelain and sealed with wax to protect your most classified files. Unfortunately this is just a design prototype thus far.

Kitsune Noir

"Ceci n'est pas une mixtape" is Paris inspired collection of star-crossed melodies from Bobby Solomon, author of Kitsune Nior and curator of digital mixtapes du jour.

In a nod to the old days skipping ahead is out of the question. He records the collections as one solid track, to be enjoyed beginning to end. Free to boot!

Apica

Sleek notebooks from Apica with a lot of charm. Old fashioned styling makes it the place to practice your Spencerian script. Japanese product push lost in translation makes it the perfect place.

Really fond of the gray college ruled pages.

ABSURDLY cheap here & here.

Paulo Navone

I found Mr. Navone's Taste collection on Yatzer. Amazingly each piece of Reichenbach china is handmade to order. Unfortunately a minimum order of 20 is required. A singular success unavailable for singular purchase.

Demakersvan

I first read about Demakersvan and Lace Fence in an issue of Dwell some time ago. The three strong and quite young firm have made bounds since.

This piece was done in conjunction with "The Face of Lace", a year long exhibition promoting the the history and innovation of lace in Bruges. The design surrounding the flour mill was fittingly inspired by an old bakery logo.

They will also have work in the upcoming "Lace in Transition". The Design Center at Philadelphia University commissioned three design firms to create site specific installations inspired by the center's extensive Quaker Lace Company collection. The show will open on September 24 and run through April 3, 2010.

More Underfoot

Zebra-pad installation also in conjunction with "The Face of Lace" exhibition last year, hopefully now a permanent fixture of the city.

YSL

There's a new piece in your place setting.

The fragile weapon
hand-painted in the style of classic tableware motifs
lies next to your coffee and cake
asking to be picked up.

Its coolness and comfortable grip
increase the qualms of the user
leaving him in a quandery
between the pleasure of luxury and violence.

Seb Lester

T & A never looked so refined. I give you the gloriously inappropriate tidings of a typographer; printed in limited editions of course.

That Sebastian, he is incorrigible.

Coralie Bickford-Smith

Ms. Bickford-Smith's hardback classics for Penguin sold exclusively through Waterstone last fall, regrettably i missed my chance. They have taken up residence as my laptop's wallpaper, but - Egad!- there is a reprint on the horizon! The lovelies are scheduled to hit the shelves of the U.S. in late October.

Senape

This little crock of sweet Bavarian mustard was hidden among the banality that is the condiment isle of Valu Market. A locally owned grocer that i patronize in multiple definitions.
