I first read about
Demakersvan and
Lace Fence in an issue of Dwell some time ago. The three strong and quite young firm have made bounds since.
This piece was done in conjunction with "The Face of Lace", a year long exhibition promoting the the history and innovation of lace in
Bruges. The design surrounding the flour mill was fittingly inspired by an old bakery logo.
They will also have work in the upcoming
"Lace in Transition". The Design Center at Philadelphia University
commissioned three design firms to create site specific installations inspired by the center's extensive Quaker Lace Company collection. The show will open on September 24 and run through April 3, 2010.
